BUTTERFLY PEA TEA TONIC
The butterfly pea plant is used in Chinese medicine for reducing pain and general inflammation. High in anti oxidants and caffeine free this tea is refreshing and a naturally vibrant blue colour and when you add lemon or lime juice its PH changes and the colour will turn bright violet.

Also known as blue tea, this plant originates from south east Asia and in India it is revered a holy flower. It can be served hot or cold, you can add honey plus lemon or lime to change its color, it is also commonly used in cocktails for its vibrancy. You can also find conditioning and strengthening hair treatments containing this holy pea flower. In Ayurvedic medicine it is considered to enhance memory and is also an anti-depressant. With an earthy taste similar to green tea.
2 tea butterfly pea tea bags or for 1 serve 1.5 teaspoons of loose tea to 1 cup of water
4 cups of water hot/cold
1 tsp of honey
1 tsp lime juice
1. Place the tea or tea bags in a tea pot and cover with water, then let it steep for 5 minutes to infuse.
2. Add a dash of honey and or lime or lemon juice and watch the tea change colors from bright blue to magenta or violet depending on how much citrus you add. Serve hot or cold over ice with a wedge of lime.
