THE 26th ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD IS LATEST AWARDS SHOW TO GO VEGAN 

The Screen Actors Guild Awards is the latest to announce they will be serving a Plant Based Menu at this years annual 26th Awards show ceremony this weekend on January 19th, 2020, as part of the show’s long-standing commitment to sustainable practices.

The Entrees will consist of Romano Bean Salad with Arugula, Niçoise Olives, Shaved Baby Peppers and Sweet Onion Vinaigrette, 
A Paella Rice Salad with Squash, Tuscan Kale and Piquillo Peppers and Charred Harissa Glazed Baby Carrots, Little Gem Lettuce, Pita Croutons, Sumac and paired with Cooper’s Hawk Artist’s Red Blend Cooper’s Hawk Lux Chardonnay.

The SAG Awards and Warner media gets behind the local LA restaurant scene to serve up a special plant based menu in the lead up to the Awards Ceremony. Here is a few of the beloved LA hot spots.



Special ‘SAG Awards Night Out’ highlights include, among others:

 

  • Gracias Madre

    • Leggo My Eggo – ‘Eggo’ Waffle Orgeat, Maple Syrup, Anejo Tequila, Lime, Pecan Bitters

    • Musso and Frank Martini – Tequila Blanco, Dry Vermouth, Orange Bitters, Olive

        

  • Umami Burger

    • Cauliflower Bites – Crispy Cauliflower Bites Served with Signature Sauces

    • Wag-Yu-Mami Burger – Shaved Cabbage, Miso-Honey Mustard, Sesame, Yuzu Mayo, Kimchi Mayo

    • The Starry Night – Triple Chocolate Milkshake with Whipped Cream and Silver Star Sprinkles

       

  • Katsuya

    • Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice – Grilled Sushi Rice, Spicy Tuna Tartare, Serrano

    • Miso-Glazed Black Cod – Houba Leaf, Hajikami Ginger, Broccolini

    • Why So Serious? – Mezcal, Cointreau, Lime Juice, Orange, Simple Syrup, Blackberries

       

  • Cleo

    • Mushroom Arancini – Risotto, Black Truffle, Garlic Aioli

    • Impossible Meatball Tagine – Eggplant, Basil, Spiced Tomato Shakshuka Sauce, Saffron Rice

    • The Irishman – Teeling Whiskey, Lime, Velvet Falernum, Angostura Bitters   






       


       

The Critics Choice Awards (CCA) also announced they are serving a plant-based menu at the 25th annual event, the second Awards ceremony so far this season to do so following the Golden Globes. Vegan Actor Joaquin Phoenix wins Best Actor at the CCA Awards and  thanks the Critics Choice Awards for serving a plant based menu during his speech.
